Proposal

One of my dear friends got a proposal from her boyfriend. On top of a mountain. :P

I love illustrating things.

Whoo

Things are going very well. I'm taking more illustration jobs as I go along. That's more in the line of what I want.

Now, I'm going to be busy doing these, but I will go ahead and post them as I go on and finish them.

I can't believe I did 4 projects last week. Whew!

But I feel great because I can do the workload and more. I think of this as training.

Sorry I haven't been updating with my work at the moment. I've just been getting one job after another and it's been hectic.

But, I love it. :)

I'm back. I'm also going and resuming work on more Olive Jane stuff. I've updated a few things on my site and all that happy stuff. Whee.

I haven't been neglecting you. :)

I'll get some stuff up in a bit. I've been working to finalize a few contracts and this weekend I'm going to start a gig that will occupy my time until about Wednesday.

I'm also going out of the country to the UK. I'm quite excited myself. I'll try to post here and there, but I'll probably be out loading up my memory banks of the place. :D

I seem to be dualistic these days.



First of all, I drew a picture of Michico and Arion, both their Chinese New Year animals.

I started drawing this months ago, and well, never figured to connect the head to the body until now.

Circus Lady and Other Colors

I think I might paint her as a study in red. :)

I think what I will do regarding color, is to do each picture in a major color for a study.

I think I've already done blue with the dragonlad. I think this evolved into something else. :D I think it looks like I will do red, green, and yellow. Yellow I did a rough one, but I don't want to put it up here.

Edit: Came up with this one.


Guess what, she'll be a study in green. :D

La Llorona

If anyone has heard of the legend of La Llorona, it is motherhood or rejection thereof at its most horrible and vile. Also, the version of where she shows up at her lover's doorstep in her bloodied nightgown after stabbing and tossing her children into the river gives me the right willies.

She used to be beautiful, but now...

Anyways, I hope I captured that about the character.

I came up with this.

I was talking to my friend about Cutie Honey. We were making light of the character when I just felt like drawing her.

beauty and the beast - revisited

I revisited Beauty and the Beast again today. :)


As you remember, back in May, I did a quick concept of Beauty and the Beast. Here is the original.


Now, I'm fine with the general references for the Beast to be a wild and furry animal. Fair enough.

However, it never really conveyed to me of the Beast's ugliness. I mean with furry creatures, they are relatable to some level. I guess perhaps it's me, but any animal you can conceivably "pet", you can have some kind feelings or at least maternal for.

I wanted to think of the Beast in a different way. I figured I would make him not only ugly, but unrelateable to another person, so it would be even more difficult for someone to love him, at least feel tender towards him. Basically, really showing the challenge of someone loving him and breaking his spell.

Anyways, I wanted to make a Beast of which you really couldn't relate to. I also wanted to make Beauty a young woman, but more of an adult rather than a girlish woman. The original picture didn't seem to fit what I felt was my spirit of her.

Edit: Oofa. I did it again. This time another perspective...

Well, I've decided to get out of my usual monochrome and earths and go for vibrant colors.

I think it was better. Although the hand is a bit messed up. Grrr.

This was more stylus practice too.

My friend Michico and I do art. Well, I was wondering what I would do with her two characters Guei and Jai. The black and white sketch is my rendition, when the color one is hers. I used her reference obviously. XD

Brushing up on my anatomy to see what works or not. Either way, I like the outcome. She looks a LOT more closer to what I want, other than just another pretty face.

So, ever met someone so crazy that wanted to hurt you so bad that they did everything to be near you?

Well, that's what I was thinking when I was drawing this picture. Lady Deathstrike was on my mind and I had an idea since this girl was crazy that even her HAIR wanted to kill my avatar (character).

I just like the expressions and poses on this one XD. Also, this is a list of stuff I wanna paint.

This is what I've been doing over this weekend. Sort of downloading a bunch of data. Here's what I liked best so far.

So, my friend Patrick referred me to some stuff regarding Gerald McBoingBoing.

The cartoons were cute and they reminded me of a time when the world didn't deem it that in order to be intelligent you had to be cynical. In short, they just had a sense of wonder that you don't see much in animation anymore. :(

So, I saw in his Kitty Journal (about his character) of how cute he thinks the character is.

Mind you, I have sent this man bunnies. Very cute bunnies. And kitties too.

Now I get a hold of this idea and make it my own.

I'm so evil.
