Comikaze here I COME!!!!
I'll be over at Comikaze in the Artist's Alley at booth AA415. Please feel free to visit me there. I should be wearing something interesting and quirky... like most people at this convention.
For my Facebook followers, it might be a reiteration and repetition. However, you do get a new map that will give you SHINY GOLDEN TREASURES!!!* Or at least get you to my booth!
Here's my advert:
And here's a helpful map of the convention space:
*I'm lying about the GOLDEN TREASURES part. Go figure. But I will be Instagramming and social media-ing my way out there! Have fun!

The THING game goes LIVE on 11/28/13!
Hello! I've been working on the Thing game for my friend Richard on the encounter backgrounds and some of the ending images.
I also found out I'm an NPC in the game. I'm apparently really badass.
If you have trouble viewing it, here is the link.
It's free to play.
Here is his ModDB.

Let's go Princess!
Of course that was another random title I cooked up.
I've been doing some figure drawing. I figure I will expand upon these sketches.
As you can see in some of the examples, I'm a bit willy-nilly in my artwork. I was debating cleaning them up, but left it for roughness' sake.
Sometimes I will first draw the model, then incorporate bits of her into another sketch of one of my own characters. I'm going to try to draw more men.

Whew.
I have been a busy potato.
I've started a new job in the meantime. I consider it calling it going to business school, but I get paid for it ha-ha. I figure the worst enemy that I've had to contend with is boredom. It breeds idleness, sloth, and lack of self-worth after a while. At least with this, I can keep sharp and socialized. It's always good to make connections.
I've also been asked to instruct part-time at game design for ITT-Tech. It does pay off graduating valedictorian and establishing good ties no matter where you go. I do love my students and it is a fun subject. Plus, they are hardworking and the feedback I get is that I make a good organic (probably tired of hearing that word, ha-ha) learning environment for them. I do try to tailor the assignments to what they are studying for. If they do concept, bring me a character. If they do 3D modeling, show me the process in what you do. I really do like it and I get to learn more and more about more cool video games. I did introduce them to Dwarf Fortress, I Wanna Be the Guy, and many others. I almost want to buy the 360 just because of it.
Damn, do I LOVE Bayonetta.
What else? Oh man, I have been working on a few personal pieces. I've been posting them up on this blog as I've been completing them, but I am viewing it as hermiting away until I find enlightenment in the art world. I'm not forcing it, nor letting it go stagnant. I kind of view this whole process currently as to what one of my buddies calls, "a hard sell". I've also updated my site to Flash, as it seems to be the best way to articulate my page the way how I WANT.
I've also been getting into fashion. I call it branching out in an artistic fashion. No, it's not going to have me wear spandex and neon lights--yet. I've just been finding a path that works for me, but doesn't feel constrained. I'm just reworking things that work into working for me in expression. I just don't feel like getting too outlandish. I think a big statement can be made just as effectively with something different and bold without going too razor-blade estranged against the senses.
That is all folks, I'll show something else as they go along, but wanted to update you after my SIMS life calmed down a bit.

Yeah, I've been updating my site. Colors looked a bit muddy and I just needed a change.
I think it will be good.

Technical difficulties
For some reason, my website went poop. I have no idea why, but my server is working on it.
Everything else is fine, but the illustrations/concept seems broken. We're working on the issue now.
It will all be all right soon.
Other than that I've had a very Merry Christmas and look forward to the new year. How about you?

Whew.

Well things have been busy to say the least.
I finished a project in which I reached a personal milestone. Now to raise the bar for me. :)
I've been busy doing background work and meeting awesome people in shows like: House, Men of A Certain Age, Community, Better Off Ted, Dexter, Heroes, and an Italian movie called "Christmas in Beverly Hills". Wewt...
HABLA is doing another gallery showing called "Harvest". A bunch of us are there in Lili Bernard's studio displaying work. I am currently selling prints and the pieces there.
The opening night is on the 7th from 6-9pm.

New Art and other things...
Hi. Been busy.
I was on the set of 'Men of A Different Age' and 'Cold Case' doing some background work.
I did a couple more arts and made a Facebook group so you can see what I'm doing and what's going on in my creative life.
Have fun!
*Since Blogger is being an ass for some reason, you can see my images on the Facebook page.

Tsunami

Well, a lot of stuff has happened then there was a lull and it happened again.
I just finished up with two projects with two fashion companies, one with one art company, and put in a graphic proposal for a film. I've moved to a nice new place and am quite pleased that things are going well.
I'm going to star in a comedy show called 'Community' of which stars Chevy Chase, Joel McHale, and Yvette Nicole brown. I'll be Hillary the Coffee girl. It will be interesting to see how things go.
There are a few other projects that are being developed and I shall let you know what new things are happening.
I also want to take a moment that my dear friend Alison Bane, passed away peacefully after a brave fight with melanoma. She was the creator of Olive Jane and I feel fortunate not only to have worked with her, but to have known her personally. She brought out the best in people and was an unending source of optimism, life, and joy. She showed that in her clothes and in her attitude despite this disease. She left behind a loving man, a lovely daughter, and a whole caboodle of wonderful friends and family that I can't count on all of my digits.
Godspeed to you, Alison. I was glad to have met you. We will all miss you terribly.

New things and updates and wow promo!
Hello!
First of all, I'd love to state that my client, Olive Jane is having a get-together and she's having a sale on her line! I invite you to come if you can. If you somehow can't make it as wild boars take over your house, then feel free to give her a call and get the clothes! She'd be happy to have you!

But, there is NO reason why you should not come. There are cupcakes.
MmmmMMmmmm... delishus cupcakes....
You know you want to.
(**Note: Blogger is being dumb and cutting off the graphic invite. Here is the direct link so that you can print it for your information or just to hold this graphic in your hot little hand.)
Here's her website and Facebook, so you can let her know to attend. If you somehow don't have a Facebook, then get one or email her: info@olivejane.net
Another update is that the SON - Kingdom Album is DONE!
Here is a low-res version of the image. The printable image will be soon available to purchase.
(Plus the load time would have increased exponentially if I posted the hi-res one on the blog.)

Click on the image to get the full layout, as Blogger seems to cut off images.
These images are also available in my portfolio website. They are under my Graphic Design aspect of my site in the Resume page.

The Dark Side
Well, I've gone to the Dark Side.
I've gone to DeviantArt.
My user name is TehChristieShinn.
I'm still setting it up, but the plan is that you can also buy my prints off of varying things they offer.
Have fun!

Sketch time!
I was watching a walkthrough of Silent Hill 5. Man, I should get that game.

Harry Mason or James Sunderland? It's kind of hard to tell as they are melancholy characters.

Drone. Inspired by Silent Hill's wierdness for bugs. May make into color.

Not related to Silent Hill, but my avatar.

Face study. Love this one. I may paint it.

But, I love it. :)
I'll post up something when I'm able to. I promise.

Update # Whatever
I haven't been neglecting you. :)
I'll get some stuff up in a bit. I've been working to finalize a few contracts and this weekend I'm going to start a gig that will occupy my time until about Wednesday.
I'm also going out of the country to the UK. I'm quite excited myself. I'll try to post here and there, but I'll probably be out loading up my memory banks of the place. :D

GDC is going great so far and my brain is swimming with ideas, critiques, and suggestions.
I'm also really tired, but I've made some cool new friends/contacts and all is right in the world.
Now I'm having a lie-in a bit today before I haul myself off for another round of marathon socializing. It's actually kind of nice considering that I hole myself up in my apartment after work drawing (another happy thing I like to do).
